Designer/artist Lauren Kangas takes a fun approach to a software tutorial: demonstrating cool features and techniques in Adobe Illustrator by recreating five ubiquitous logos. Lauren shows how to turn back the clock on Courier, how to use Illustrator's pathfinder palette, how to create reflections, and a lot more cool tricks using the logos for Chase Manhattan, Target, Aveda, and Animal Planet as well as Milton Glaser's legendary I Heart NY.
About Lauren Kangas
Lauren is an award-winning designer and artist whose client list has included W Magazine, Calvin Klein Fragrance and Healing Garden Organics. In 2001, she launched a boutique design studio, L.N. Kangas Design, which specializes in brand identity; her work has since been recognized by the Art Directors Club, Graphis, AIGA Loop Journal, Graphic Design USA, the Madison Series in China and the FiFi Awards. Lauren holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts and a BA from Yale. In her free time, she volunteers with several non-profits including the Taproot Foundation and CENYC Greenmarket.
